Want to translate a podcast episode for free, quickly and without complex editing software? If you already have your episode audio (MP3, WAV, or M4A), you can translate it in minutes with a simple workflow: upload, pick languages, translate, export. You can preview the result and fine-tune it if you want more control.

TL;DR

  • Create a free CHAMELAION account, then upload your podcast episode audio
  • Confirm the source language and select your target language (or languages)
  • Click Translate, wait for processing, then preview and export

1) Create your free CHAMELAION account

Go to app.chamelaion.com and create your account (Google sign-in or email and password). After signing up, verify your email and set your display name.

Tip: If the verification email does not arrive, check spam and use the resend option on the sign-up screen.

2) Upload your podcast episode audio

After logging in, upload your podcast audio file (either the full episode or the segment you want to translate).

3) Confirm the source language and choose your target language

After upload, CHAMELAION detects the source language automatically. Confirm it (or correct it), then select one or more target languages.

Optional: choose settings before translating

Next to the Translate button, you can enable helpful extras before you start:

  • Background Sounds, if you want music or ambience mixed back into the export
  • Language Style (casual vs formal), if your target language supports it

You can also skip these and still get a clean translated result.

4) Run one-click translation

Click Translate.

CHAMELAION transcribes the original speech, translates it, and generates a new audio track for your selected language. You can close the tab if you want. When it is ready, you receive a confirmation email.

5) Preview and export your translated podcast

Once processing is done, preview the translated result and download the export.

If you are using the free Starter option, exports include a small “Translated with CHAMELAION” watermark.

6) Optional: fine-tune in the Dubbing Studio

If you want more control, open the Dubbing Studio to refine the result. This is where you can polish transcripts, timing, delivery, and other details, then export again.

If you want the full, detailed feature walkthrough, the CHAMELAION Help Center is the best place to go 👍.

Podcast-specific tips for better results

Podcasts behave a little differently than short audio clips. You might have intros, outros, multiple speakers, and music beds. Here are the biggest quality levers before you translate.

Use a podcast-friendly audio format

If you have a choice, use:

  • WAV (best quality, larger files)
  • MP3 (most common)
  • M4A or AAC (common for phone and podcast exports)

If your file is in an unusual format, convert it to WAV or MP3 first.

To translate a podcast online for free with CHAMELAION:
